Mt Lyell - Everything in the shadows was the same temperature as the snow and at each ledge we had to pause for a few minutes just to warm our hands. Unfortunately, we had left our crampons back at the car in an effort to lighten our packs. It became clear that this was a big mistake as we tried to head straight up the rocks.
