After Lake Manyara, we headed northwest, passing through Ngorongoro (that would be saved for the last day) and towards the Serengeti. On our way there, we passed a group of at least seven giraffes. We also stopped at the Oldupai Gorge where one of the earliest known ancestral human skeletons was found. They also had an exhibit and casting of the pre-human footprints found preserved in volcanic ash at a site to the south.
